Day 1
Arrival – Colombo → Chilaw (80 km / 2 hrs)

  • Warm arrival welcome at Bandaranaike International Airport by our dedicated chauffeur guide.
  • Transfer to Chilaw on the western coast.
  • Highlights: Visit Munneswaram Temple, a revered ancient Kovil complex where Lord Rama prayed to Lord Shiva after defeating King Ravana; and visit Manavari Temple, where the first lingam (Ramalingam) was consecrated by Lord Rama.
  • Overnight: Negombo / Chilaw hotel.

Chilaw → Trincomalee (220 km / 5 hrs)

  • Scenic cross-island transfer to Trincomalee on the tranquil eastern seaboard.
  • Highlights: Visit Thirukoneswaram Temple (Dakshina Kailayam) perched dramatically on Swami Rock cliff; Shankari Devi Temple, one of the 18 sacred Maha Shakthi Peethas; and the legendary Kanniya Hot Springs built by King Ravana.

Trincomalee → Sigiriya → Kandy (250 km / 7–8 hrs)

  • Morning transfer towards central Sri Lanka with en-route heritage exploration.
  • Highlights: Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sigiriya Rock Fortress, often associated with King Ravana's palace and ancient airmanship legend; proceed to royal Kandy.
  • Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) and experience an evening Kandyan Cultural Dance Show with traditional fire-walking.

Kandy → Nuwara Eliya (80 km / 3 hrs)

  • Ascend into misty tea country highlands through scenic mountain roads.
  • Highlights: Visit Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple at Ramboda where Hanuman searched for Sita Devi; proceed to Seetha Amman Temple in Seetha Eliya (Ashok Vatika where Mother Seetha was held captive); and visit Sri Bhakta Gayathri Peedam.

Nuwara Eliya → Divurumpola → Bandarawela (60 km / 2 hrs)

  • Morning journey passing through picturesque valleys and tea hills.
  • Highlights: Visit Divurumpola Temple, revered as the sacred location of 'Agni Pariksha' where Sita Devi underwent the trial by fire to prove her purity; stroll through scenic highland tea plantations.

Bandarawela → Kataragama (140 km / 4 hrs)

  • Drive down towards the spiritual southern sanctuaries.
  • Highlights: Visit Ravana Falls and Ravana Ella Cave network, where King Ravana is said to have hidden Princess Sita; continue to the holy shrine town of Kataragama dedicated to Lord Skanda (Murugan), worshipped by Hindus and Buddhists alike.

Kataragama → Galle → Mirissa (220 km / 5 hrs)

  • Travel along the southern coastline.

  • Scenic coastal highway drive back to Colombo.

  • Departure: Punctual private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight back home.
